Father Albert Braun
The Sacred Heart Church was built by Father Albert Braun and the residents of the Golden Gate Barrio.

For over two decades, the nonprofit organization, Braun-Sacred Heart Center has represented the wishes of the former Golden Gate Barrio residents to save and restore the Old Sacred Heart Church Building in Phoenix, Arizona in honor of the memory of the heroic Father Albert Braun and of the community that played a major role in creating Phoenix as represented by the residents of Golden Gate, the surrounding barrios, and American Legion Post 41.

The Braun-Sacred Heart Center, Inc. offers many valuable services to maintain community awareness, promote community involvement, and to preserve the accomplishments of our communities, especially the Mexican American residents of Phoenix, Arizona and the Valley of the Sun.

The establishment of a Veteran’s museum at the former Sacred Heart Church in honor of Father Albert Braun’s military and civilian service to his country, and also of the service of all of the veterans that came from Golden Gate and the other barrios of Phoenix is solidly supported by the American Legion Post 41.  We invite you to support and contribute to the Braun-Sacred Heart Center’s projects and efforts.
